Computer Science

University of Cambridge

About the course

The Cambridge Computer Science course is offered in two formats:

  1. A 3-year program leading to a BA honours degree

  2. A 4-year program that includes a Masters component, resulting in both a BA and a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree

Both options are designed to provide a broad and deep understanding of computer science, encompassing theoretical concepts and practical applications.

Key areas of skill development include:

  1. Programming: Students gain proficiency in various programming languages, including OCaml, Java, C/C++, and Prolog. This multi-language approach aims to equip students with versatile coding skills applicable across different computing environments.

  2. Hardware Systems: The course includes hands-on experience with hardware, such as chip design. This component ensures students understand the fundamental physical structures underlying computer systems.
