Medicine
University of Oxford
About the course
The Oxford medical course is structured as a six-year program, divided into two distinct stages: pre-clinical (years 1-3) and clinical (years 4-6). This structure allows students to build a strong foundation in medical science before applying this knowledge in clinical settings.
In the first three years, students work towards a BA Honours degree in Medical Sciences. This pre-clinical stage emphasizes basic science research that underpins medical practice. The subsequent three years form the clinical stage, where students apply their scientific knowledge in practical medical contexts.
